Thanksgiving | review

About: After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts - the birthplace of the infamous holiday.

Review: Not much to write home about with Eli Roth's Thanksgiving. It's a pretty basic Scream-like slasher that does deliver some clever kills and dials up the twisted necks and gore. The final girl in this one is pretty much the Sidney Prescott type and even the actress portraying her does a solid impression of her. That's not a bad thing either, Sidney is a horror icon.

Nell Verlaque, Patrick Dempsey and the rest of the cast do a fine job throughout. The villain reveal is fairly easy to spot early on in the movie (if you've seen enough slashers over the years), but when it is revealed in the end, it still makes for an entertaining outing.

It's not a bad watch if you're a slasher nut, like myself. But if you're expecting this to be any different than most slashers, I'd really hate to be the one to burst your expectation bubble. On the other hand, if you don't care about all the heavy detail stuff... Thanksgiving will feast your eyes. Eli Roth hasn't missed much in the past, so he's a nice 'safety blanket' in the genre.

Give this one a go, it's worth the rental price.
