About: An astronaut crash lands on a mysterious planet only to discover he's not alone.
Review: Do not listen to the critic reviews for this one, it's one of the best movies so far for 2023.

If you're a fan of 'Last of Us', you'll get a nice vibe from the two lead characters of '65'. It does have a typical survival movie aspect to it, which I agree with most of the critics reviews for this. But if that aspect feels more fresh and has a more entertaining value to it, it feels much different than the typical.

Adam Driver is in typical top form, but he does get some solid help along the way from the talented and slight newcomer Ariana Greenblatt. Driver and Greenblatt portray the two lead characters of Mills and Koa, respectively. They have a very Joel and Ellie vibe throughout from 'Last of Us'. So, like I said earlier, if you love the 'Last of Us' games, you'll see what I'm referring to.

Mills (Driver), an astronaut, has a very unfortunate backstory as the movie progresses, which adds to his humanity. Koa (Greenblatt) is a mysterious young girl who Mills guides through the vast and unforgiving wilderness of this planet they're stranded on, which is not exactly what they would have expected. Together, the two bond closely as they battle some ancient beasts to try and escape this planet.

I really enjoyed '65' from beginning to end. I like these types of stories and the atmosphere for the film is extremely on par with what I would have imagined this type of movie to be. Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, the guys who brought you 'A Quiet Place' are at the helm of '65' and handle it with grace and steady detail. Much like they handled 'A Quiet Place'.

The sound mixing and effects are great, along with the vast majority of other technical aspects. I enjoyed the finale. I just enjoyed everything about this film. It vibed really well, and I loved the chemistry of Driver and Greenblatt. It's official. Adam Driver makes for a capable 'action star' for the future.
